On the night Jesus was born, angels appeared to some shepherds in the fields of Bethlehem, traditionally The Shepherds Fields east of the town. They announced the birth of the Messiah and urged the shepherds to visit Him. This may have been the greatest choir ever heard on earth, with the Glory of God radiating light across the night sky. These may have been the same fields where David took care of his father Jesse's sheep, and where his great-grandmother Ruth gleaned in the fields of Boaz.
