Sunset over the Judean hills.<BR>Through the years, with political changes, Judea's boundaries, like those of other regions, changed. The name Judea came from the tribe of Judah. Most of the exiles who returned from the Babylonian exile were from the tribe of Judah, and were called Jews and their land Judea.
