Judea northwest of the Inn of the Good Samaritan, east of Jerusalem.<BR>Through the years, with political changes, Judea's boundaries, like those of other regions, changed. The name Judea came from the tribe of Judah. Most of the exiles who returned from the Babylonian exile were from the tribe of Judah, and were called Jews and their land Judea. In New Testament times Judea was roughly from the Mediterranean Sea to the Dead Sea and from Joppa in the north to the south end of the Dead Sea.
