The first Thanksgiving was actually a harvest festival. In the spring of 1621, colonists planted their first crops in nearby fields. While they had limited success with wheat and barley, their corn crop proved very successful. Together with seasonal pumpkin harvests, corn became a traditional part of Thanksgiving festivities and feasts.<BR>Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful and give praise to God for all the blessings He has bestowed on us.
